Meghan Markle and Prince Harry almost picked another name for their elder offspring, son Archie.
The couple went on to contemplate the moniker of their baby boy right before his birth in 2019- a piece of insider news, which has now been revealed by the Duchess of Sussex herself.
While attending the Bench reading session for children at The Hague, Meghan told Mandy McBain, wife of a nursing officer, that she almost named Archie 'Harrison' when she realised their sons share names.
"[Meghan] was like 'Harrison, that's Archie's middle name', and Mandy was like 'Yeah, I know,' " said McBain. "They were just having a chat because Harry and Meghan couldn't decide between Archie and Harrison for the first name."
Meghan welcomed Archie with Prince Harry in May 2019.
Archie is a shortened version of the name Archibald, meaning genuine and bold or brave. Harrison, on the other hand, is originated in the Middle Ages as a patronymic meaning "son of Henry" or "son of Harry."
