Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari, who is the sister of PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, censured the viral picture of the nikkah nama of Dua Zehra — who has reportedly married a man named Zaheer.

Taking to Twitter, Bakhtawar replied to a tweet and said that the nikkah nama is illegal as Dua is underage. Terming the nikkah "coerced and manipulated", Bakhtawar expressed disgust over people blaming the young girl.

"This is not legal as she is underage (14) so obviously coerced and manipulated. There is zero consent at 14 and it is revolting to see so many people blame a child," she wrote.

She went on to say that police should charge the man for [allegedly] kidnapping and arrest the maulvi.

"The man should be charged with kidnapping & the maulvi should be arrested for signing off on child marriage," she wrote.
