ISLAMABAD: Former PTI leader Akbar S Babar Tuesday criticsed the ousted party after it held protests outside the offices of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) across the country.
The Imran Khan-led PTI held protests outside ECP offices in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and other cities against the “biased attitude” of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja.
The protests demanded the ECP conclude the foreign funding case filed by the PTI against PML-N and PPP. Apart from the foreign funding case, the protestors also demanded the ECP to de-seat the dissident MNAs of the PTI, adding that if the ECP fails to do so then it would be “violating” the Constitution.
But sharing a picture of a placard that a protester held, Akbar S Babar — who is the main petitioner in the PTI's foreign funding case — termed it "fascism".
"The accused demanding the resignation of the judge(s) deciding his fate. What better example of 'FASCISM'," Babar wrote on Twitter, slamming the PTI for demanding the ECP office bearers' resignation.
