PESHAWAR: The Funeral prayer of Superintendent of Police (SP) rural, Abdul Kalam Khan, who was killed in a deadly suicide attack here on Thursday morning, was held at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines.
The funeral was attended besides others by Khyber Pakthunkhwa Governor, Barrister Masood Kausar, Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, Speaker Khyber Pakthunkhwa Assembly, Kiramatullah Khan, Deputy Speaker Khushdil Khan, Senior Ministers Bashir Ahmed Bilour and Rahimdad Khan, Chief Secretary Ghulam Dastagir Akhtar, IGP KP Akbar Khan Hoti, Provincial Ministers, MPAs, senior police officers and elites of the City.
A smartly turned out contingent of KP police presented salute to the coffin of the slain SP, who was targeted for conducted successful operation against miscreants in rural areas of Peshawar and busted several gangs of outlaws and dacoits.
Later, the Governor, Chief Minister and IGP laid floral wreath on the coffin of the deceased and offered Fateha.
They prayed Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to members of the bereaved family to bear this loss with patience.
Later the body of the deceased was shifted to Maidan Lower Dir where his funeral prayer would be offered at 5pm and would be laid to rest. He left behind two sons and a widow to mourn his death.
