Cricket: Namibia scrape win against Uganda
DUBAI: Namibia maintained their unbeaten record in the ICC World Twenty20 qualifying tournament on Friday but were given a run for their money by fellow African side Uganda.

Namibia went into the match unbeaten in three games but were restricted to just 140 for five in their 20 overs, after Uganda's Charles Waiswa took three key wickets. Raymond van Schoor top scored with 60 in 62 balls.

Uganda needed 10 off the last over to secure the win but tight bowling from captain Sarel Burger and Christi Viljoen left them four runs short of the target.

Burger said afterwards that their opponents provided some stiff competition after his side's previous victories.

Uganda captain Davis Arinaitwe said his side was disappointed to have lost.

Defending champions Afghanistan also made it four wins in four thanks to a 34-run victory over Nepal.

Karim Sadiq (52) and Mohammad Shahzad (52) were the top scorers for Afghanistan who made 157 for 6 off their 20 overs.

Nepal, who have two wins in four matches, finished on 123 for 6 with Anil Mandal making an even 50.

Scotland's Calum MacLeod scored 104 off 76 in his side's 52-run win over Oman.

MacLeod's ton was the second of the tournament and his first for Scotland.

Canada beat Bermuda by 72 runs, Netherlands beat Denmark convincingly by seven wickets while Papua New Guinea beat Hong Kong by four wickets.

Alex Obanda hit a 47-ball 79 to help Kenya to a seven-wicket win over Italy while Ireland beat the USA by 64 runs.
