KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is all set to celebrate its foundation day today.
A number of events have been planned for the day, the largest of which will be held in Hyderabad and will feature an address by the party's founder, Altaf Hussain.
A similar celebration will also be held in the city of Lal Qila. MQM leaders have already left for Hyderabad to apply finish the preparations for the jalsa. The MQM was founded in the year 1984 and will be celebrating its 28th Youm-e-Tasees today.
Altaf Hussain has issued a statement on the occasion from the London Secretariat of the MQM. He stated that the country's "oppressive and feudal forces will soon meet their fate. The MQM's 28th founding day will be the final nail in the coffin for these people".
He made this statement in a telephonic address to MQM workers who were busy making the final preparations for the programme in Al-Mustafa Ground, Hyderabad.
