Tennis: Del Potro confirms for Queen's Club
LONDON: Former US Open champion Juan Martin Del Potro confirmed on Tuesday he will compete in this year's Wimbledon warm-up event at Queen's Club.

The Argentinian, who beat Roger Federer to win the title at Flushing Meadows in 2009, will join defending champion Andy Murray and last year's runner-up Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at the grass-court tournament which runs from June 11-17.

Del Potro, 23, has played at Queen's twice before, reaching the third round last year, while his best performance at Wimbledon also came in 2011 when he lost a close match against Rafael Nadal in the last 16.

The AEGON Championships at Queen's is an amazing tournament, very nice to come to, to play, to train and I will be there for sure trying to win my first title on grass.

Del Potro, ranked 11th, has been returning to form after spending last season finding his way again following a serious wrist injury. (AFP)
