KHAIRPUR: A car driver was killed by dacoits after kidnapping him along with four others here in the limits of Babbar Loi Police Station last night.
According to details residents of Khuhra town- Abdul Rahim, Shams Memon, Naimat Abbasi, Ghulam Qadir Larak and Shafqat Kalhoro were passing through National Highway in a car when a gang of armed dacoits intercepted and kidnapped them along with the car. Later, they killed the car driver Abdul Rahim Ujan whose body was found near Shah Hussain village in the limits of C-Section Police Station.
On receiving the information the police got high alert and started searching other four abductees after cordoning off the area while SSP Khairpur suspended SHO of C-Section Police Station. Kalhora town remained closed on Saturday against the tragic incident. Sources said that the dacoits were demanding Rs.10 million as a ransom for release of the abductees.
It is pertinent to mention here that in Khairpur, the native district of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Hussain Wasan, kidnapping for ransom incidents has increased at an alarming rate and in last twenty four hours this is the second abductee killed by dacoits while currently the total number of people kidnapped in Khairpur is 15.
