HYDERABAD: A journalist was shot at and injured in by a neighbour who aimed a repeater gun at him to settle a petty quarrel.

Sarfaraz Vistro, the chief reporter of Sindhi newspaper daily Ibrat was allegedly attacked by Gohar Ali Shah outside his parents' residence in Al- Mustafa Town in Qasimabad here on Sunday.

The doctors who operated Vistro in the Civil Hospital said and they removed multiple pellets from his abdomen.

Doctors said the patient was out of danger after the successful operation.

According to Vistro's brother Aftab, the quarrel started on Saturday night when Aftab and Shah argued and later fought over some
matter.

The police was called to pacify the situation but in the morning
when Sarfaraz, who lives separately in an apartment in Qasimabad,
visited his parents home he was again attacked by Gohar Shah.

"He opened indiscriminate firing from the repeater gun," Aftab alleged.

According to Bhitai Nagar police station, search is underway for the suspect who had escaped from his home. However, an FIR has not been registered so far. (APP)
