MULTAN: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani visited Muzaffargarh ranges and witness on-going activities of Army Air Defence Units, says ISPR press release issued here on Thursday.
The day's activities involved live firing several air defence weapons on the inventory of Pakistan Army. These included short range surface to Air Missiles, Shoulder Fired Weapons and Anti-Air Craft Guns. The COAS appreciated the standards displayed by the weapons crews of different units of Army Air Defence.
He emphasised the importance of Air Defence in today's warfare and the need to remain abreast with modern requirements as regards up-gradation of equipments, as well as training to defeat a wide threat spectrum.
Earlier, on arrival at Multan, the COAS was received by Corps Commander Multan Lt General Shafqaat Ahmed. (APP)
