LAHORE: President Asif Ali Zardari Saturday said that he had also received an offer to flee from the country but he turned it down, Geo News reported.
"I was told that a plane waited stand by and I should proceed abroad but I turned down the offer," the President said while addressing the Punjab Council of People's Party.
He said: "I told them I would not proceed abroad in any case, as my heart beat for the poor and my life and death is linked with this country."
Zardari said the weak flee from the country by making deals.
