PM Manmohan Singh offers help in Siachen incident to President Zardari
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday offered Pakistan humanitarian assistance to help find survivors of a devastating avalanche that struck Pakistan's army camp near the Siachen glacier in which 135 soldiers were trapped.

Manmohan Singh said he had heard the news about the avalanche and offered humanitarian assistance, India's foreign secretary Ranjan Mathai told reporters.

Thanking Manmohang Singh for the offer of help, President Asif Zardari said he would check and if there was any requirement, he would revert.

Mathai said that during the meeting Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh raised the issue of Hafiz Saeed, while President Zardari raised the issues of Siachen, Sir Creek and Kashmir.

Mathia added that during the meeting, President Zardari said both governments needed to hold further discussions relating to Hafiz Saeed.

Mathai said the meeting between President Zardari and Prime Minister Singh was constructive and both countries are determined to use regional cooperation.
