LAHORE: The Asian Football Confederation has endorsed the re-election of Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat as the President of Pakistan Football Federation for next four years.
In an e-mail message - shared with GeoNews - the AFC's president Shaikh Salman Bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, has congratulated Faisal Saleh Hayat on his re-election and assured his support for the development of Football in Pakistan.
"Your re-election is a testimony of the faith and confidence the local football family has in your abilities and I have no doubt that you'll make valuable contributions for the development of football in Pakistan." Khalifa wrote in message to PFF's president.
Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat was re-elected to the office of PFF President during federation's election congress held in Changla Gali on 30th June. The elections process continued despite a stay order issued by Lahore High Court to stop the elections after creation of a parallel faction in the PFF.
The AFC and FIFA, in an earlier message, denounced the creation of parallel group in PFF and backed Faisal-led-PFF as the only representative of Football's governing body in Pakistan.
