GUJRANWALA: Investigators have found signs of sabotage along the rail track leading to the Head Chanawan Bridge, where a Pakistan Railways special train derailed on Thursday sending four bogies and the engine into the water claiming 17 lives.

Sources told GeoNews that investigators have found nuts and bolts 400 yards away from the site of the incident. Investigators have also discovered that the fish-plates have been visibly grazed. However the grazing is only evident on the right side of the tracks.

As per the initial investigation, the bridge was unable to bear the burden of the train and buckled under the weight of the heavy train and broke sending four bogies and the engine into the water.

The train was a special train carrying a Pakistan Army engineering unit from Pannu Akil to Kharian.
