Rehman Malik visits Lyari

KARACHI: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik visited Lyari on Sunday. Malik listened to the problems being faced by the residents of Lyari.

Residents complained of severe distress during the operation and called for the Rangers to take part in any future action against criminal elements in Lyari.

Malik assured the residents that there will be no operation in Lyari however police and Rangers would take targeted action against criminals and their hideouts. “People of Lyari will not be held hostage,” Malik said.

Replying to a question regarding the non involvement of Rangers during the operation, Malik said that they would be called in if need be.
