FAISALABAD: Minister for Water and Power Syed Naveed Qamar on Wednesday announced one hour reduction in load shedding duration for Faisalabad power looms and other small textile sector related industry in order to facilitate the small industries in this regard.
The reduction will take effective on Saturday after improvement in the generation and the duration will come down to three hours from four hours and apply all the industry dominated feeders there.
He made this announcement while talking to a delegation of Faisalabad power looms association, textile exporter association, hosiery manufacturers association, embroidery association, and Faisalabad Chamber who called on him led by Rana Asif Touseef, chairman exporters association.
The minister said that government is determined to resolve the energy crises, however, strike and agitations are not the proper way to protest. "All of us will have to share the burden when we know that there is gap between demand and supply."
He also extended bill payment date for two days for industrial consumers. He also directed to take the matter regarding MDI, FPA, and EQ surcharge with NEPRA.
He said that after decisions of the energy conference, all the express feeders in the industrial sector particularly for big textile industry have been exempted from load shedding.
He said that the load shedding for other industry has also reduced after conference. He assured that more relief would be passed on when generation will further improve.
The delegation thanked the Minister for taking decision to reduce the load shedding and assured that they will cooperate the government and avoid protests. Minister of state for privatization Rana Asif Touseef was also present on the occasion. (APP)
