MQM worker gunned down in Karachi

KARACHI: A political worker was killed by a gunshot in PECHS Society in the jurisdiction of Ferozabad Police Station on Tuesday, police said.

According to police, Anwar Alam, a political activist belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement and ex-councilor, was killed when unidentified armed men opened fire on him and fled.

When attacked by armed miscreants, Anwar suffered serious bullet wounds and was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for treatment where he breathed his last.

Anwar Alam was an ex-councilor of the area for more than three years.

No FIR was registered till the filing of this story.
