ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has decided to continue talks with the US in connection with resumption of NATO supplies, said Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira at the conclusion of Defence Committee of the Cabinet's (DCC) meeting here on Tuesday.
Breifing the media about the decisions taken at the DCC meeting chaired by Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani, the Information Minister said that a final decision to reopen the NATO routes would be made after conclusion of the ongoing Pak-US talks in this regard.
He said the DCC expressed satisfaction on the negotiations held so far and directed the Foreign Office, Finance Ministry and other concerned departments to complete their respective tasks in connection with the dialogue process at the earliest.
The DCC endorsed President Asif Ali Zardari's attending the Chicago Summit, Kaira said, adding, 'Nato is a big forum and the President will fight Pakistan's case in front of the world's nations.'
Islamabad shut its Afghan border to NATO supplies after US air strikes killed 24 soldiers in November, provoking a new crisis in relations on top of the outcry from the US raid that killed Osama bin Laden the previous May.
