Netflix limited series Dahmer- Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is being called out by the mother of one of Dahmer's victims, Tony Hughes, to whom an entire episode was dedicated.
Speaking to The Guardian, Shirley Hughes whose deaf son Tony Hughes was murdered by the infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in May 1991, has also spoken out against Ryan Murphy's series which was released on Netflix on September 21.
Shirley said, "it didn’t happen like that," and continued "I don’t see how they can do that, I don’t see how they can use our names and put stuff out like that out there."
Earlier, Rita Isabell, the sister of another of Dahmer's victims, the 19-year-old Errol Lindsey, said in an interview, "I feel like Netflix should've asked if we mind or how we felt about making it. They didn't ask me anything. They just did it."
She continued, "But I'm not money hungry, and that's what this show is about, Netflix trying to get paid."
Despite the criticism, the series became the second most-watched English-language series in a week in Netflix history.
