NAWABSHAH: At least seven people were killed while three were injured when a passenger bus was attacked. The incident took place on the National Highway near Qazi Ahmed.
According to DIG Hyderabad, Sanaullah Abbasi the attackers were passengers on the bus which was travelling from Karachi to Kohat.
Emergency was declared in local hospitals after the firing incident.
PPI adds: DIG Abbasi said five passengers died on the spot while two others breathed their last in Peoples Medical College Hospital Nawabshah.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Majeed, Gul Zeb, Samiullah, Kabul Khan, Abdul Basit, and Muqeemullah. Three injured were admitted in the hospital.
President Asif Ali Zardari has taken notice of the incident of firing. While condemning this brutal act of firing on a passenger bus, the president has called for a report into this unfortunate incident and has directed to bring culprits to justice.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah also sought reports from DIG Hyderabad and SSP Nawabshah.
