TANDO MUHAMMAD KHAN: Federal Minister for Water and Power, Naveed Qamar Saturday said talks were underway over import of electricity from India, adding headway was expected on the project soon.
Talking to media persons on the occasion of commissioning of upgradation of Tando Muhammad Khan Grid Station, the Federal Minister said a Pakistani delegation was all set to leave on May 28 for Iranian tour in connection with finalizing a 1000 MW electricity project.
He said the upgradation of the power transformer of Tando Muhammad Khan Grid Station from 15/30 MVA to 20/26 MVA was completed at a cost of Rs60 million.
Naveed Qamar cited the replacement of gas with oil fuel as the main reason responsible for increase in electricity tariff hike.
