Police said the perpetrators used a remote-controlled bomb planted inside a car to target patrolling policemen.
The people who lost their lives were innocent bystanders.
In the wake of the accident rescuers rushed to the blast site and shifted the bodies and injured to the hospital.
Law enforcement agencies cordoned off the entire area and started investigation.
