Abbottabad operation destroyed Pak sovereignty: Nawaz Sharif
LAHORE: PML-N president Nawaz Sharif said Monday that the Abbottabad operation had destroyed the sovereignty of Pakistan.

Sharif was referring to the May 2, 2011 US covert operation in Abbottabad in which Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden was killed.

Addressing a gathering in Lahore to mark Youm-e-Takbeer, Sharif said Pakistan during his tenure had conducted nuclear explosions which acted as a deterrent against future explosions by the country’s enemies.

Following his address, party workers tried to meet Nawaz Sharif but were stopped by security guards. This led to party workers protesting with one even lying down in front of the PML-N president’s car.
