ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has arrived in Quetta on a two-day visit of restive Balochistan province during which he will meet a cross-section of society.
The government on Saturday decided that no one would be allowed to drive vehicles with tented glasses or with glazed papers in Balochistan and also cancelled all the "Rahdaris" issued so far to the vehicles for the province.
It was decided in a meeting held here at Prime Minister House under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and attended by Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raeesani, federal ministers for Interior, Finance, Law and Justice, Information and Broadcasting, Food Security, and Science and Technology, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Human Rights, Provincial Minister for Finance Muhammad Aslam Kurd, parliamentarians from Balochistan and senior government officials.
PM Gilani directed the Balochistan chief minister to take special measures to trace the missing persons.
He also ordered the chief minister to ensure well co-ordinated efforts of all law-enforcement agencies of both the federation and the province operating in Balochistan to help overcome terrorism, kidnapping for ransom and other criminal activities.
