LAHORE: City District Government Lahore will conduct a survey of dangerous and dilapidated buildings of all towns before the commencement of monsoon season.

DCO Noorul Amin Mengal Friday directed the CDGL to take action against most dangerous buildings in accordance with law.

He said that advance arrangements should be made in low lying areas before start of the monsoon and vigilant staff should be deputed for monitoring there.

He was presiding over a meeting to review the district emergency flood action plan arrangements at Nadir hall.

The DCO said that central control room will be set up at DCO office before the commencement of monsoon season which will start functioning from July 15 while all towns will also make arrangements for setting up control rooms in their respective towns.

The DCO issued special directions to authorities of irrigation department for monitoring of areas at both sides of river Ravi from which water could enter into low lying areas. He said the officers that encroachments in river bed should be removed immediately. He directed the officers of WASA, LESSCO, Rescue 1122, Civil defence, Education and other departments to submit a report of monsoon plan of their respective departments.
