KARACHI: Police on the night between Sunday and Monday claimed to have arrested three suspected members of a gang of armed robbers after a short encounter in Federal B Area of Karachi, Geo News reported.

According to SSP District Central, Asim Qaimkhani, the alleged culprits landed in the hands of police after they tried to challenge the men of law during a routine snap-checking near Tahir Villa Chowrangi in Federal B Area.

Outgunned by the cops, the hoodlums soon downed their weapons and turned themselves in as they were no match for the mighty law-enforcers.

A couple of handguns, many snatched mobiles, and a stolen motorcycle were also recovered from the malefactors who were said to be wanted by the police for a range of offenses including street crime, armed heists, and all kinds of other felonies.

The crooks were identified as Aziz alias Mohsin (the gang leader), Naveed alias Chota Khan, and Wajahat alias Ali.

The suspects have been thrown in the lockup for further investigation.
