Police officers directed to stop illegal fishing

PESHAWAR: Director Fisheries Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has asked the District Police Officers of all over the province to provide necessary help to the representatives of Fisheries Department to check the illegal fishing during the current reason in which breeding of carp fish start till 31st of August 2012 as it was prohibited during the said closed fishing season.

In a letter the Director Fisheries said that armed personnel use all illicit means for fishing like electric current, poison, dynamite and nets due to which there was a enormous danger of indiscriminate slaughter of fish fauna. (PPI)
