QUETTA: Police on Thursday arrested three terrorists who confessed to have killed 15 people mainly the religious scholars and recovered arms, fake NICs and other documents from their possession.

Briefing the media persons, here at CCPO office Deputy Inspector General (Investigation) Hamid Shakeel said that a mobile team of PS Jinnah Town was on patrolling at 04:30 am on late Wednesday when they signaled to stop three persons riding a motorbike. The suspects opened fire at police team, DIG said adding the police called for more contingents of police on wireless set and subsequently the team headed by SHO Jinnah Town PS rounded them after short exchange of fire.

Three 9MM pistols, NICs and some other documents were recovered from them, he maintained.

He said that on the information extracted by the police during the rudimentary investigation, raid was conducted at a house located in the Brewery Road one Honda Bike and some other documents were seized.

The NIC recovered from the house identified them as Jhangir Haider Shah, Nadeem Abbas and Zeeshan Qaisar Abbas contrary to their earlier identification which they told to police during the investigation, Mr Hamid Shakeel said.

He said that the detained terrorists who belonged to the DI Khan district and have confessed to have killed fifteen religious scholars and other people.

The terrorist had large list of scholars names and of other notables, which they had plan for future targeting, he said adding police has launched operation to arrest the other gang members and at present, we can not share complete details about our further plan of action.

DIG said that detained men were way as per plan to kill a religious
scholar in Kili Ismaeel of the city.

The people they confessed to have killed included Salim Jadoon, Qari Jalil, Molvi Abdul Karim, Hafiz Abdul Basit, Farooq Bangulzai, Maulana Faizullah and Qari Yasin.

He said that DI Khan Police have been contacted to know if they wanted the held terrorists in any crime.

To a question, he said that police is investigating into the killing of beggars and other people belonged to Sindh and Nasserabad area of the province. (APP)
