RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif said on Saturday Gwadar Port and China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will be built as the most strategic deep sea port in the region at all costs.
The COAS inspected under constriction roads as part of the CPEC at Panjgur.
The Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) is working at five locations and 502 out of 870 KMs have been completed.
The COAS appreciated FWO for the amazing pace of construction and paid tribute to soldiers who are sacrificing lives and limbs for this national project.
The road being constructed will link Gwadar with the rest of Pakistan and the CPEC will transform the lives of people.
“We are acutely aware of our rivals’ campaign versus the corridor,” COAS said as he vowed that armed forces were ready to pay any price to turn this cherished dream into a reality.
Army Chief General Raheel Sharif paid tribute to the proud and valiant people of Balochistan. He thanked them for their unconditional cooperation and support for these projects.
“Balochistan’s potential will only be realized thorough whole of nation approach for its security and development. Security and peaceful environment was a must to push for planned work.”
He also lauded the law enforcement agencies to the noticeable change in the security situation in the province.
