Police foil suicide attempt

ISLAMABAD: The Police on Monday foiled suicide attempt when five persons including three women tried to self immolate themselves here outside National Press Club, a police source said.

According to details, 28-year old Malook s/o Pasand resident of Norang, Tarandio Tehsil Mehr District Dadu along with four other persons sprinkled petrol on themselves and tried to commit suicide.

Policemen performing duty there rushed towards them and managed to overpower before they self-immolated themselves.

Police said they claimed to have land dispute with an influential person of their village `Chandio'.

The other persons who tried to commit suicide have been identified as Altaf s/o Gulzar (26), Farwa d/o Pasand (35), Pari d/o Pasand (18) and Perveen Imam age (17).

They were rushed to Poly Clinic hospital where they were stated to be in stable condition.

The Police have started investigation into matter for further legal course of action. (APP)
