Rehman Malik forms team to probe passport scandal

ISLAMABAD: Interior advisor Rehman Malik has formed a investigation team headed by Director General FIA to probe the fake passport and visa scandal. Malik has also requested that the name of Abid Choudhry the Pakistani politician being mentioned in the scandal be placed on the ECL.

The team has been directed to complete their investigation within three days and arrest those responsible.

The team consists of officials from NADRA, ISI and IB. NADRA chairman Tariq Malik informed Geo News that a team to probe the scandal comprising senior officials had been formed and will take strict action against those found involved.

Senior officials of the Interior Ministry said it was impossible to make passports without a NADRA issued identity card and data. A decision to launch a large scale investigation in NADRA and the passport office has also been made.
