PESHAWAR: Detection teams of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) taking action against power pilferage Tuesday removed four 4 distribution transformers causing loss of Rs, 30000 daily.
The teams also detected a commercial plaza in Gulberg with direct connection from a distribution transformer, said the spokesman of PESCO adding that an assessment of Rs.1,47000 was debited to the consumer account, while FIR has also been lodged against the persons involved.
PESCO detection team conducted raids in Wazir Bagh sub-division and tempered and defective meters were replaced immediately.
Similar actions were also taken in Tajabad, Abbotabad and Swat Circle, Bannu Circle and D IKhan where FIRs were lodged against persons involved in power theft.
It is pertinent to mention here that these teams are performing their job from the last 10 days in PESCO's 6 Circles with the special task to reduce line losses and improve recovery position.
Drive against illegal use of electricity has been launched under the Supervision of Chief Engineer Customer Services, the spokesman said.
Chief Executive PESCO said that drive against illegal use of electricity will continue and customers are requested to avoid illegal use of electricity and remove all direct hooks immediately, other wise strict action will be taken against the culprits.
PESCO also appeals for co-operation to overcome loadshedding and ensure uninterrupted power supply to all the consumers. (APP)
