The Celebrity Juice comedian, Leigh Francis, best known for his outrageous character Keith Lemon is going on live UK tour with celebrity spoofs and new masks.

He also expressed fear of facing backlash over his new venture.

While talking at Good Morning Britain, he said, “I guess I might have to apologize in the next 20 years when people get offended. Hopefully, note!”

He added, “They are all new masks, all new characters.”

Leigh has faced backlash over the years for his show Bo Selecta which was aired between 2002 and 2009.

Singer Craig David was one of the prominent voices criticizing him and declaring his character on the show as racist, reports Metro UK.

The comedian played Avid Merrion, a celebrity stalker, on the show. He performed impressions of the stars while wearing latex face masks.

Leigh had to apologize for his character during the Black Lives Matter movement. He said, “I didn’t realize how offensive it was back then.”

Craig didn’t approve of the sincerity behind Leigh’s apology.

Leigh responded on The Sun saying, “Most people are happy with their portrayal on Bo’ Selecta! Apart from someone we know wasn’t.”

While appearing on GMB as himself instead of the character Keith Lemon, he admitted that it was a weird experience.

He revealed that though the character Keith Lemon has a reputation but Leigh never uses derogatory language.

Leigh has performed as character in many shows, including Keith Lemon’s Very Brilliant World Tour (2008), Celebrity Juice (2008-2022), Through the Keyhole (2013–2019), and The Keith Lemon Sketch Show (2015–2016).
