K-pop group Stray Kids’ Felix will be halting promotional and group activities due to his grandmother’s death. His agency JYP Entertainment released a statement on June 24th to announce the news.
They added that he would not be taking part in the video event that was scheduled for the next day.
“Hello, this is JYPE.
Stray Kids member Felix’s grandmother has passed away.
Consequently, Felix will not be attending the “StarRiver Video Call Event” that was scheduled for tomorrow (6/25).
We ask for the kind understanding of STAY [Stray Kids’ fans] who have been waiting, and please send Felix warm words of consolation.
Rest in peace.
Thank you.”
Felix, along with the rest of the group, is in the middle of promoting their latest album named 5-Star along with their hit title track S-Class. This is their first comeback since the release of their first full Japanese album The Sound and their first Korean comeback since the release of the highly successful Maniac.
Fans of the idol previously expressed concern for his safety after he began to receive an alarming number of death threats, especially targeting his upcoming event in China. They demanded that the agency take action to confront the threats and protect the rapper.
