Federal Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mian Javed Latif has said that party supremo Nawaz Sharif will decide about the PML-N's alliance for the upcoming elections.
Addressing a press conference at the party's Model Town office on Wednesday, he said earlier Nawaz was eight hours away from Pakistan, and now he was only two-and-a-half hours away.
He said prosperity would return whenever Nawaz returned to the country.
The federal minister said friendly countries were making investments in Pakistan at the request of Nawaz, as he would become the prime minister of Pakistan "for the fourth time".
He said: "PMLN wants free elections on time."
Javed demanded action against those who launched 'Project Imran'.
He said that one of the institutions had practically done self-accountability and given punishments, which proved the PML-N viewpoint that there was facilitation.
Latif said that in Pakistan's history, no one could even think of such an incident that happened on May 9 — when Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf supporters ransacked military installations after party chairman Imran Khan's arrest.
He said all characters involved in the May 9 incidents should be punished.
There have been speculations about Nawaz's return to the country after a law was enacted, limiting parliamentarians' disqualification to a maximum of five years, ending the PML-N supremo's lifetime disqualification.
Former president Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Karachi Wednesday after concluding his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Zardari, who is also the co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), reached the Jinnah International Airport in a private plane. After landing in Karachi, he went to Nawabshah.
During his stay in the UAE, lasting for three days, Zardari held top-level talks with the leadership of the PML-N — including Nawaz — about the dissolution of the National Assembly after the completion of its five-year term, the subsequent caretaker government setup to be installed in the country, the date of the forthcoming general elections, and other political affairs.
PPP Chairman and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who also attended the crucial talks between the two coalition partners in the UAE, will spend Eidul Adha in Dubai.
After Eid, he will proceed to visit Japan.
