King Charles ‘had no wish to see’ mother’s loyal aide ‘homeless’

While King Charles may not have been keen of his his mother, Queen Elizabeth II’s most trusted aide, but he still did not want to see her homeless.

According to Journalist Valentine Low’s updated paperback edition of Courtiers, which was excerpted by the Times, Angela Kelly believed she would be allowed to reside in a cottage in Windsor Home Park after the Queen’s death.

“During the late Queen’s last years, there was no one outside her immediate family who was closer to her than Angela Kelly,” penned Low.

“Her official title was Personal Assistant, Adviser and Curator to Her Majesty the Queen … but she was also her confidante, her friend and the person who looked after her more than anyone else; as Kelly would tell friends, she was effectively the Queen’s carer.”

Kelly lived in a grace-and-favour home in which she had resided during the two decades of service. However, in May, the former aide vacated the home.

“Negotiations ensued in which it was suggested that the King would buy her a home near Sheffield, [England], to be near her grandchildren,” wrote Low.

“Angela wasn’t everybody’s cup of tea, but nevertheless the King had no wish to see her homeless,” a source told Low. “I get the impression that the King just didn’t want to be living next door to her.”

Reports suggest that the monarch has asked Kelly, who already published two books about her life in royal circles, to sign a non-disclosure agreement effectively preventing her from revealing any further secrets from within The Firm.

In return, Charles, 74, bought for Kelly a new in Yorkshire, England, will be returned to the Crown upon the former assistant’s death.

Shortly before Charles’ coronation this past May, Kelly took to social media again, posting a picture of her garden on Instagram.

“Getting ready to say goodbye. I am moving at last to my new home which I will be able to call My Home at last,” she captioned the photo.
