Paul McCartney criticises Bruce Springsteen over three-hour long concert

Paul McCartney has recently criticised Bruce Springsteen’s hours-long concerts.

Speaking on Conan O’Brien’s Needs a Friend podcast, Paul blamed Bruce for raising fans’ expectations for lengthy performances and making it difficult for other fellow musicians.

“These days, pretty much there’s the main act and there might be a warm-up act,” said the 81-year-old musician.

The Beatles star recalled that there “were a lot of people on the bill because nobody did long during the Sixties”.

“Now, people will do three or four hours,” remarked the music artist.

Paul admitted, “I blame Bruce Springsteen – I’ve told him so, I said, ‘It’s your fault.’”

Paul revealed that during the The Beatles’ time, “the band would do much, much shorter sets”.

“You can’t now do an hour. We used to do a half hour. That was The Beatles’ thing – half an hour, and we got paid for it,” he explained.

Paul added, “That was it. A Beatles show, we were on and off like that. It didn’t seem strange.”

According to The Independent, more than 100,000 people came to watch Paul’s headline set at Glastonbury back in 2022.
