TV star Jonnie Irwin has made a candid confession saying that ‘People I thought would be supportive weren’t’ amid his terminal cancer diagnosis.

Jonnie revealed his terminal cancer diagnosis to the public last November (2022) after he was told that he could only have months to live.

He also revealed that cancer has spread from his lungs to his brain.

A Place In The Sun presenter has been spending most of his time with his family as he shares three sons with his wife Jess.

He was recently seen making a rare appearance at TRIC Awards with his fellow Escape To The Country stars.

In conversation with The Sun, Irwin expressed gratitude for those who supported her during this difficult time and lamented the ones who didn't support him, reports Metro UK.

He lamented that "The people I thought would be supportive weren't."

Talking about Nicki Chapman, Sonali Shah, and Jules Hudson, Irwin said, "These guys have done what I expected of them."

'It means everything to me, I consider these people my family.'

Earlier, Jonnie said that he was pushed aside for someone healthier by channel 4. His contract wasn't renewed for A Place In The Sun leaving him heartbroken.

Jonnie also revealed that he kept his diagnosis a secret out of the fear of not being able to provide for his family.

He said, "People just write you off as soon as you have got cancer."
