President Zardari took Sarabjit issue seriously: Krishna
NEW DELHI: Indian External Affairs Minister, S M Krishna has said that President Asif Ali Zardari took seriously the matter of Sarabjit Singh, who is on a death row in Pakistan, and ordered the concerned officials to look into the issue.

Talking to media men upon returning to India on the heels of a three-day visit to Pakistan, Krishna said the matter of Sarabjit Singh came up for discussion during his meeting with President Zardari.

The Indian External Affairs Minister had a meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari on last Friday during his three-day long trip to Pakistan.

Sarabjit was awarded death sentence by an anti-terrorism court for his involvement in a series of bombings in Punjab in the ’80s and early ’90s.

Krishna before departing for India on Sunday termed his visit to Pakistan as fruitful and said his country wants a stable and peaceful Pakistan as its neighbour.
