ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Pervez Rashid on Thursday said the resignations submitted by the parliamentarians of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were nothing more than a political gimmick.
“The chapter of organized rigging (in the elections of 2013) should now come to a close,” Pervez Rashid asserted while speaking in Geo News program ‘Capital Talk’ hosted by senior anchor Hamid Mir.
He said even before the formation of inquiry commission other parties had already given a certificate of no rigging in the elections.
The Information Minister, however, said that PTI’s coming back to the National Assembly was not the government’s need but of the democracy’s.
Leader of Pakistan People’s Party, Saeed Ghani, who was also a guest in the program, said reforms must be introduced by remaining within the existing system.
On the reports of Lyari gangster Noor Muhammad alias Baba Ladla, he said the gangster was once an office boy in a bank.
He said some of the relatives of Baba Ladla are presently active in the country’s politics.
