Protesters block Quetta-Karachi highway

QUETTA: Truck drivers blocked Quetta-Karachi Highway for traffic in protest against kidnapping of their two colleagues in Mastung district on Monday.

Local Levies sources said unidentified armed bandits had kidnapped two truck drivers early Monday morning and took them to some unknown location on gunpoint.

The bus and truck drivers blocked Quetta-Karachi Highway near Lackpass area of Mastung district for hours causing inconvenience for the passengers.

Long queues of vehicles were seen on either sides of the highway but none of the local administration official arrived to clear traffic.

Protesting drivers demanded early recovery of the kidnapped drivers and strict security of the highways to avoid such incidents in future.
