Harrowing tale of twin ‘honour killings’ in Karachi

KARACHI: In a hair-raising tale of the so-called honour killing in Karachi, a man killed his daughter-in-law while the son took life of her alleged paramour.

The most abysmal aspect of this event is that the father of the daughter himself gave permission for her killing.

A dead body of 20-year old identified as Ibrahim was recovered from Pir Colony. Soon after that another body of a girl identified as Bakhtawar, 20, wife of Habib.

As police investigation progressed, it came out that the murders were linked and a result of the so-called honour killing.

According to SSP Investigation Zulfiqar Mehar, what is regrettable is the fact that the girl’s father himself gave the permission for the killing of her daughter. The police have apprehended the father and her brother.

The killers dumped the bodies in separate locations to hoodwink the police but could not succeed.
