KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party has declared Monday a day of mourning over the deaths of workers who were killed in firing at a rally in Khairpur where MNA Nafisa Shah was scheduled to speak.
On the other hand in a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the CM here on Sunday evening said Syed Qaim Ali Shah has sought immediate report from Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, Commissioner Sukkur and DIG Sukkur.
It said that the incident of firing occurred before the arrival of Nafisa Shah at the public meeting and that by the grace of Allah, she is safe.
The Chief Minister expressed deep sorrow and grief at the loss of five precious lives in the firing incident.
He also expressed sympathies with the members of the bereaved families.
Qaim Ali Shah directed the officials of the Health Department to provide immediate medical care to those who sustained injuries in the incident.
He said that attack on a public meeting is a dastardly and shameful act.
The Chief Minister also directed the police to immediately arrest those involved in the firing incident.
