MIANWALI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday visited flood affected areas of Mianwali and expressed profound grief over the loss of lives.
Addressing flood victims in Esa Khel Tehsil of Mianwali, the prime minister announced Rs300 million assistance for the flood victims.
”Though there is no substitute for human life, compensation will help you to some extent,” he said, adding that he equally shares grief of those who lost their loved ones in the floods.
He said that the government was ready to spend Rs1.30 billion for the development of rural areas as it was his priority.
Nawaz Sharif said he was determined to provide employment and bring prosperity to people.
The prime minister also announced Rs20 million to setup a water plant in Esa Khel and directed WAPDA authorities to put an end to prolonged power outages in the area.
He said part of Pak-China Trade Corridor will pass through Mianwali that would bring more opportunities for the people.
Mr Sharif added that Pakistan would be far better after three years than it is today.
