ISLAMABAD: Religious parties have restored the Muttahida Majlis Amal (MMA) sans Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Jamiat Ulema e Islam-Samiul Haq (JUI-S), Geo News reported Thursday.
The political alliance was formed during the tenure of the last government and a meeting was held in Islamabad to decide if the MMA would be restored.
Following the meeting, the decision to restore the MMA due to the current situation in the country was announced.
When asked about the JI’s decision not to join the MMA, JUI-F chief Mualana Fazlur Rehman replied that there was no discussion regarding this in the meeting.
Rehman claimed that elections would not be delayed according to information he had received.
