Senior lawyer shot dead

LAHORE: A senior lawyer, Shakir Ali Rizvi, was shot dead by unidentified people near the Lahore High Court on Friday.

According to police, the lawyer along with his colleague Rizwan and driver Sohail Masih was going to the Lahore High Court when four gunmen on two motorcycles intercepted his car and opened fire at him.

The injured lawyer was rushed to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police sources said the lawyer had been contesting several high-profile cases and received death threats.

Police have registered a case against unidentified people and started investigation.

Security was bolstered at the court after the incident.(APP)
