ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik is not ineligible to hold public office after Chairman Senate dismissed the reference pertaining to his dual nationality and the matter was wrapped up by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
According to the ECP, there is no room for further action against the Interior Minister.
The Supreme Court in its ruling in the dual nationality case had stated that 11 parliamentarians including Malik should be disqualified. The Supreme Court had directed the Senate to decide on Maliks disqualification.
