Imran Khan says his head hangs low in shame over Kasur scandal

HARIPUR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Monday said his head hangs low in shame over what happened with the innocent kids in Kasur and how parents were blackmailed by the child abusers.

Addressing a public meeting here, Imran Khan said police failed to perform its duty in Punjab.

He said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has a government in Punjab for the sixth time and the party has destroyed the entire police department of the province.

“There is not a single soul in power who could lend his ear to the painful cries of the weak,” Imran Khan lamented.

He said Rana Sanaullah lied that the Kasur scandal was actually a land dispute.

He said in 1992 IG Punjab presented a report disclosing the inductions in police department were made on recommendations.

The PTI chief said Punjab has been turned into a police state where police officials are distributing tickets for the local bodies’ polls. “These people give tickets to the criminals and then mint more money after coming into power,” he said.

He said Pakistan’s media is free today and he thanked the media outlets for highlighting the Kasur scandal. He said his party would take up the issue in the National Assembly.

Imran Khan says Nawaz Sharif doubled power tariff

Later, Imran Khan addressed another public meeting in Ghazi area where he said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has doubled the price of electricity.

He said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were subjected to oppression, as the province has to face loadshedding of upto 18-20 hours per day.

He called upon the federal government to hand over operational control for KP’s electricity to the PTI’s provincial government. “We will not only reduce the rate of electricity but also eliminate loadshedding,” he claimed.

Imran Khan reiterated that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is traitor and a terrorist outfit.
