ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday said the Kasur child abuse scandal is not a political one; it is a human issue and deserves immediate call to attention in the National Assembly.
“This is a very painful issue and it is above all political considerations,” Qureshi said during an informal media briefing here.
He said PTI has also already submitted an adjournment motion in NA over the Kasur scandal. “This tragedy has caused embarrassment both internally and externally,” he regretted.
Qureshi said the NA Speaker has been requested to keep all other businesses aside for a while and take up this issue on priority basis so that the facts come to the fore.
On the issue of loadshedding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said the province is experiencing unscheduled power loadshedding for up to 12 to 16 hours every day. “Despite staging protests, there is no let up in the loadshedding,” he added.
He regretted that KP is not even receiving its allocated share of electricity quota.
