Britney Spears has made her thoughts about Christina Aguilera very clear in her upcoming memoir. Spears’ pop rival had collaborated with her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake just a year after their breakup.

Spears’ disdain comes from the fact that the trio knew each other from childhood, having starred on the The Disney Channel's The Mickey Mouse Club from 1993-1994, and the five-time Grammy winner still chose to appear on the cover with the NSYNC star, after he had alleged in his Cry Me a River video that Britney cheated on him.

The same year, Aguilera told Rolling Stone in 2003 that she had a hunch “that there's going to be some reconciliation. I know that they talk and everything, and it's cool. I don't think it's over.”

Expressing her thoughts on Christina’s comments, Britney writes, “They were together on the cover of Rolling Stone, him in a black tank top, looking at her with sexy eyes, her looking out at the camera, wearing a lace-up black shirt.”

“In that story, she said she thought Justin and I should get back together, which was just confusing, given how negative she'd been elsewhere.”

“Even if they weren't trying to be cruel, it felt like they were just pouring salt in the wound,” she shares, adding, “Why was it so easy for everyone to forget that I was a human being — vulnerable enough that these headlines could leave a bruise?”

Britney Spears’ memoir The Woman in Me will be released in bookstore on Tuesday, October 24.
